Over at Disinformation there's a post on the "Atomic Gardening" fad of the 1950's. Here in the real world exposing vegetables to hard radiation didn't amount to much, but in the gaming universe this real-life craze sounds like a great story hook. Everything from a Super-hero/villain's Secret Origin to patient zero for the Zombie Apocalypse.
